Lanercost Church of England Primary School offers a well-rounded, inclusive, and deeply supportive environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive—both in and beyond the classroom.

We recognise that a successful education is not solely measured by academic outcomes, but by the development of happy, confident, and resilient individuals who feel safe, valued, and inspired to reach their potential.

Our strong lines of communication between school and home ensure that families are actively involved and well-informed, fostering a true sense of partnership. Whether through regular newsletters, open dialogue with staff, or opportunities to share feedback, parents and carers are welcomed as an integral part of the school community.

Thinking about you

We provide high-quality wraparound care through our Breakfast and Stay & Play Clubs, creating a calm, caring start and end to the school day.

These sessions are designed not only to support working families but also to enrich children’s daily experience through play, interaction, and informal learning.

Beyond the curriculum, we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities that cater to a diverse range of interests. From sports and music to creative arts and outdoor exploration, our enrichment opportunities help children to develop new skills, discover passions, and form lasting friendships.

Parental involvement is further championed through the work of the Friends of Lanercost School (FOLS), whose fundraising efforts and event organisation significantly enhance the life of the school. Their contributions help fund resources, trips, and experiences that go beyond the everyday curriculum and add depth and joy to school life.
